Our client is an established name in the table grape and vegetable industry with their primary operations based in Namibia. They have recently opened up their marketing division in Klapmuts in the Western Cape and is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified individual as their Accountant. This position reports directly to the Managing Director.

Main Duties:

  • Accounting functions up to trial balance including processing of bank statements, bank reconciliations and journals, all payments and processing
  • Creditors and payment administration
  • Debtor’s functions: All invoicing and customer statements, follow up on outstanding debtors, reconciliation of debtor accounts and dealing with queries, reconciliation of all deliveries during season
  • Monthly internal auditing: Petty Cash reconciliation, weekly wages reconciliation, general ledger account reconciliation
  • Monthly VAT calculations and submission
  • Annual Compensation Commissioner calculations, assessment and regulation of the payments
  • Annual application for Tax Clearance Certificate and CIPC returns
  • All reconciliations for the annual audit and assistance with queries


  • B. Comm degree or relevant financial qualification
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in a fruit production / export industry
  • Accuracy and detail-oriented approach
  • Excellent people skills for liaison with clients and suppliers
  • Ability to cope with challenges and problems
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Good performance in a pressured working environment
  • Good language skills in English and Afrikaans
  • Excellent computer skills (Pastel, Zero, Microsoft Office and Excel)
