Our client is the leading supplier of table olives to the South African market. The company is involved in farming, processing, packaging, and marketing of table olives and extra virgin olive oil. The business is looking for suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to join their business.

The accountant will be responsible to handle prepare, compute, manage, research, and analyse all accounting data, to provide quantitative information on performance, financial position, solvency, liquidity, and cash flows of our business. Guarantee compliance with IFRS, SARS, the Companies Act and any other regulatory / legislative requirement applicable to the company and its operations while simultaneously providing support to the Financial Manager. This position will report to the Financial Manager and is based in Paarl.


  • Accurately process creditor invoices / credit notes and purchase requisitions to the correct general ledger and department code
  • Maintain accurate records of creditor accounts and reconciliations
  • Capture & reconciliation of all bank transactions for products
  • Follow up suppliers and customers timeously in regarding outstanding accounts
  • Assist Financial Manager regarding all short-term insurance claims and policy
  • Maintain and reconcile Fixed Asset Register
  • Complete stock production runs
  • Reconcile and pass monthly stock accounts
  • Report on stock variances
  • Prepare Trial Balance up to audit level
  • Answer audit queries
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls
  • Load all bank payments
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Reviewing of Debtors recons performed every month
  • Reviewing of weekly Producer statement
  • Complete and submit VAT and PAYE returns
  • Monthly reporting preparation
  • Sales data imports and reconciliations
  • Ensure all finance filing is up to date and accurate
  • Ad hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by Senior Management


  • Grade 12
  • B. Com Accounting / Financial Management
  • SAICA / SAIPA articles
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience
  • Good Excel and Microsoft office skills
  • Experience in manufacturing, wholesale and/ or retail
  • Experience in Microsoft Navision is advantageous
  • Ability to work under pressure
