Compliance Officer (Fruit Industry)

Our client is a major role player in the pome fruit industry. They are looking for a dynamic Compliance Officer to join their team. This position is based in Grabouw.

The Compliance Officer will be required to assist pome fruit producers with their annual certifications, monitor plant protection product compliance, manage aspects of the company’s food safety program and interact locally and internationally on a producer, retail and statutory level.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Assisting producers with accreditations as listed above
  • Monitoring Plant Protection Product (PPP) Safety
  • Manage environmental monitoring systems on farms
  • Administrate company food safety documentation system
  • Statutory Compliance (Special Export Markets)
  • Commercial Due Diligence and Communication

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • An Agriculture-related qualification will be beneficial
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in a fruit production compliance environment will be beneficial
  • Must be computer literate
  • Good knowledge of food safety protocols like BRC
  • Good working knowledge of GlobalGAP and related add-ons
  • Good working knowledge of SIZA sustainability protocols (ethical & environmental)
  • Good interpersonal skills (fluent in Afrikaans and English)
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Medically fit to perform the duties as required
