Engineer: Water & Energy
Our client is in the beautiful Citrusdal valley in the Western Cape, a vertically integrated company and leader in the citrus industry, is seeking a practical and dynamic engineer to join their team.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in data-driven decision-making, maintenance management systems, and practical problem solving, ensuring precision and efficiency for every unit of water and energy used.
Responsibilities:
This position, as part of the technical team, will primarily drive the business dimensions relating to Energy and Water whilst handling project development, execution, commissioning, and operational plant support.
The job will entail, but is not limited to:
- Facilitating systems & equipment design and optimization
- Facilitating effective metering – Residential, Commercial & Industrial
- PLC & SCADA
- Equipment maintenance, leveraging CMMS (Pragma)
- Data analytics & continuous improvement
- Data and information flow integration with internal and external platforms
- Holistic project management
- Desktop and on-site execution of capital/maintenance works
- Energy systems master data management
- Development of SOP’s & internal training
- Analyze and optimize resources that drive sustainability
- Team management & cross functional team integration
Requirements:
- Applicable qualification (BEng/BSc Eng is advantageous) with a continuous learning attitude
- Relevant interest and experience preferably within the Energy, Water, Storage & Reticulation environment
- Computer Literacy, including Excel, Outlook, CAD
- Willingness and ability to wok and prosper both individually as well as in a team
- Ability to competently engage with industry experts
