Fruit Accountant

Our client is an internationally recognised grower, packer and exporter of citrus fruit and table grapes. Their farms and packhouses are situated across the Western Cape with their head office in Bellville.

They have a vacancy for a fruit accountant at their head office in Bellville.

This office-based position will report to the Senior Fruit Accountant and is based at their head office in Bellville.

Responsibilities:

Setup and maintaining consignment accounts for the company’s foreign operations. This will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Accumulating relevant consignment sales and cost information
  • Calculating final consignment results and instituting payment to suppliers of produce
  • Recording consignment transactions in the books of record
  • Financial performance reconciliations

Requirements:

  • Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification
  • 3-5 years’ experience in fruit accounting or cost accounting
  • Relevant knowledge of computer systems (accounting and exports)
  • Ability to work independently, take quick and accurate decisions and be able to meet deadlines
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
