Fruit Accountant

Our client is an internationally recognised grower, packer and exporter of citrus fruit and table grapes. Their farms and packhouses are situated across the Western Cape with their head office in Bellville.

They have a vacancy for a fruit accountant at their head office in Bellville.

They are looking for a detail-oriented and deadline-driven individual to join their fruit accounting team. This position is based in Bellville and reports to the Senior Fruit Accountant.

Responsibilities:

Setup and maintaining consignment accounts for the company’s international operations. This will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Gathering and analysing relevant consignment sales and cost data
  • Calculating final consignment results and instituting payments to produce suppliers
  • Recording consignment transactions in the financial records
  • Reconciling financial performance metrics

Requirements:

  • Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in fruit or cost accounting
  • Proficient in MS Excel and accounting/export systems
  • Strong administrative, decision-making and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
