Human Resource Practitioner

Our client in the West Coast is seeking to appoint a Human Resource Practitioner.

The main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Assisting line management with recruitment, selection and induction
  • Composing Human Resources plan in line with company expectations and Employment Equity Plan
  • Supporting line management with disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Promotion of relationship building
  • Giving advice with respect to labour relations aspects
  • Support with yearly wage negotiation
  • Representing the company during disputes at the CCMA
  • Assisting with the drafting and training of procedural and substantive agreements
  • Drafting of EE and Skill plans
  • Coordinating all training
  • Coordinating and facilitating the application of performance management systems
  • Assisting with composing the competency profiles
  • Processing staff movement requests
  • Providing information to line management regarding compensation
  • Managing employee assistance program (EAP)
  • Assisting with audits (BRC, SIZA, HACCP) 

Requirements 

  • Relevant Human Resources qualification (B. Tech or Diploma)
  • 3 years’ experience working as a practitioner in a Production environment
  • Leadership skills
  • Good communication skills (interpersonal and written)
  • Good computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Client-centred orientation
  • Initiative
  • Strategic management skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual (English and Afrikaans)
