Operations Manager: Packing

Our client is a leading and vertically integrated citrus and rooibos tea producer in the Citrusdal valley. They have an opportunity for a dynamic individual to join them as the Operations Manager:  Packing. This position will work in a close team and share co-responsibility for certain outputs within the Packing Operations.

Responsibilities:

The role is responsible for the operational implementation of the following:

  • Production Logistics & product flow (harvest and packhouse logistics, packhouse bin handling & logistics, fruit quality & degreening, etc.)
  • Admin, Finance & Controls (packing inventory control, cost control process implementation, etc.)
  • Mechanical & Automation (maintenance, machinery & equipment, automation & electrical, vehicles etc.)
  • Human Resource Management (staffing, development, health and safety, employee relations, compliance, etc.)
  • Operational Structure and Team Selection
  • Coordination, Organization and Mobilization

Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. B. Eng Degree)
  • Demonstrated ambition and commitment to continuous professional development
  • Relevant and proven operational experience, preferably within fruit packing environment
  • Advanced management and numerical capability
  • Computer Literacy
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • Aptitude to manage large quantity of people and variables
  • Willingness and ability to work and prosper within a team environment
  • Self-motivated, driven, resilient and humble
