Personal Assistant (6-month contract)

Our client, one of the major role players in the pome fruit industry, situated in Grabouw, is seeking a motivated, energetic, and dedicated Personal Assistant to support one of our marketing managers with a visual disability. The role is more than just administrative assistance; it is about fostering an inclusive environment where our marketer can thrive. We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset, who is eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Main duties:

  • Diary management: keeping track of weekly schedule/tasks and sending reminders
  • Format information for internal and external communication (emails, presentations, reports)
  • Managing telephone calls, using initiative to identify alternative contacts where required
  • Maintain organised filing system of paper and electronic documents
  • Supporting the office with ad-hoc duties
  • Retrieving electronic information from various systems
  • Reading, writing, and using WhatsApp for a manager with a visual disability

 Minimum requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience as a Personal Assistant, Secretary or similar role
  • A great understanding of the Agriculture-language/culture is preferred
  • It will be to your advantage if you can start on immediately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Fluent in Afrikaans & English)
  • Strong attention to detail & excellent language skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Performing with a high level of accuracy, proofreading & editing
  • Knowledge of Google GSuite (Gmail/Google Meet/Docs/Sheets etc.)
  • Adapting your PA style to suit the needs of company Managers & Directors
