Retail Account Manager

Our client is a Stellenbosch-based grower-packer marketing company with their key focus on local retail supply from their preferred group of partner farms and packhouses. They have built their business around dedicated local supply to a select few South African retail supermarkets and they are currently seeking to appoint a Retail Account Manager to join their company.

The Retail Account Manager will be responsible for the following:


  • Planning
    • Put together Master Program based on suppliers estimates
    • Daily availability to be sent to buyers based on stocks and availability
    • Execution of daily orders with packhouses and staging depots
    • Procurement of product for current client program
    • Logistics planning of product from packhouses to client’s DC’s
    • Stock management of fresh product
    • Stock management – Lugs, etc (Chep)
  • Technical Management
    • Ensure all packhouses are client compliant
    • Ensure all product packed for the client is according to spec
    • Ensure all pack houses send “Airtable Pallet Release QC Reports” with each load-out
    • Management of all rejections at DC level back to grower
  • Category Management
    • Develop new category lines within current Stone & Pome supply
    • Maximise supply into each SKU
    • Develop new supply for additional category lines. g.  Grapes / Citrus
    • Procurement of product for new client business
  • Relationship Management
    • Pack house visits with current supplier network
    • Manage relationship with client’s DC’s and National Head Office
