Senior Farm Manager

Our client is an established apple and pear farming company in the EGVV area, and they require a Senior Farm Manager for one of their units in the ELGIN area. They offer a permanent position with a competitive salary and housing.

A passion for fruit farming and a strong work ethic is essential for this position.  Self-drive and personal integrity with the ability for continuous development and improvement will be advantageous. These qualities will favour a candidate over his/her qualifications. The position reports to the General Manager.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the production of pome fruit with emphasis on quality and implementation of best farming practices
  • Build motivated teams to ensure production efficiency
  • Irrigation management
  • Provide inputs as a part of the dynamic operational team
  • Planning and implementation of new orchard development

Requirements:

  • Relevant agricultural qualification
  • Knowledge and experience of pome fruit production along with 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Strong organizational and labour management skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively on all levels
  • Ability to work independently and manage detail
  • Dynamic and innovative team player
