Tasting Room Manager

Glen Carlou, situated in the Simonsberg-Paarl area has a vacancy for a Tasting Room Manager. The Tasting Room Manager will be mainly responsible for the management of all daily operations in the Tasting Room.

Duties:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Tasting Room, which includes tastings, visitor relations, tours, staff management and performances, cash-ups, and stock control
  • Inventory management of wine, retail merchandise and tasting room supplies
  • Partner with wine educators, winemakers, and production staff to ensure the staff
  • receives the appropriate level of sales, product, and general wine education and training
  • Coordinate wine related hospitality events
  • Handle routine purchasing transactions, including operating registers, and accounting for daily sales
  • Ad hoc duties as required

 Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with a qualification in Wine Tourism
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a managerial position in the wine industry
  • Be knowledgeable of all wine offerings
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude, professional and excellent service and
  • hospitality to a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player and a leader
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans and an additional
  • language will be to your benefit
  • Energetic, accountable, and team-oriented
  • Reliable, responsible, and organized
  • Attentive to detail, planning and thoroughness
  • Proficient in EzyWine, Excel, or ability to learn these programs
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced working environment
