Tasting Room Manager
Glen Carlou, situated in the Simonsberg-Paarl area has a vacancy for a Tasting Room Manager. The Tasting Room Manager will be mainly responsible for the management of all daily operations in the Tasting Room.
Duties:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Tasting Room, which includes tastings, visitor relations, tours, staff management and performances, cash-ups, and stock control
- Inventory management of wine, retail merchandise and tasting room supplies
- Partner with wine educators, winemakers, and production staff to ensure the staff
- receives the appropriate level of sales, product, and general wine education and training
- Coordinate wine related hospitality events
- Handle routine purchasing transactions, including operating registers, and accounting for daily sales
- Ad hoc duties as required
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with a qualification in Wine Tourism
- At least five (5) years’ experience in a managerial position in the wine industry
- Be knowledgeable of all wine offerings
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, professional and excellent service and
- hospitality to a high level of guest satisfaction
- Strong interpersonal skills, team player and a leader
- Strong verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans and an additional
- language will be to your benefit
- Energetic, accountable, and team-oriented
- Reliable, responsible, and organized
- Attentive to detail, planning and thoroughness
- Proficient in EzyWine, Excel, or ability to learn these programs
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced working environment
