The objective of this skills programme is to enable Health & Safety Representatives to set up a Health and Safety committee and to apply systems according to legislation.
The following content is presented over two consecutive days:
- Overview of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Goals and objectives of a Health and Safety committee
- The purpose, role and responsibilities of members of a Health and Safety committee.
- Meeting procedures
- Practical implementation of a Health & Safety committee

SAQA Unit standard 12352: Demonstrate knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of a community committee
