Factory Manager
Our client is the leading supplier of table olives to the South African market. The company is involved in farming, processing, packaging, and marketing of table olives and extra virgin olive oil. The business is looking for an experienced factory manager to lead the team at its processing facility located outside Paarl.
The Factory Manager plays a key role in the organisation and is responsible for ensuring the operational effectiveness of the factory and its various departments, as well as ensuring that production outputs meet the required quality and safety standards.
Key Performance Areas:
- Management of operations
- Management of the factory staff
- Compiling and management of the operational budget
- Stock management and control
- Oversight of the maintenance of plant and equipment
- Food safety and quality management
- Oversee new product development and product improvement
- Liaison with suppliers and consultants
- Health and Safety
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Production/Operations Management or equivalent
- 5 years’ management experience
- Experience in food production, processing, and packaging will be advantageous
- Ability to develop and implement innovative strategies to streamline factory operations
- Ability to motivate and lead staff in an enabling workplace
- Ability to manage change
