Johan graduated in Social Sciences at Stellenbosch University and then held human resource positions in the primary and secondary agriculture sectors, which included group manager of human resources at Unifruco and Capespan. In 2001 he became a founder member of HopkinsCalvert Associates, with his late colleague, Rodney Calvert.
Like his colleagues, Johan is a nature lover and he and Trudie spend their leisure time travelling or on their protea farm, high in the Waboomsberge outside Montagu.
Henk started his career in Human Resources at Senwes in Klerksdorp and has more than 20 years experience in the wine/liquor industry where he held the position of HR Manager at KWV. He has a post graduate qualification in human resources and industrial relations.
He is married to Miranda and they have a son and daughter. He lives in Paarl and enjoy the outdoors and travelling.
Melanie du Preez
Melanie graduated with a B.A degree in Sport Science from Stellenbosch University. She is a self-taught bookkeeper and has worked in finance for 7 years.
Melanie is married to J-J and has two sons. She enjoys running and adventuring in the outdoors.
Margot graduated with a BA Honours Psychology degree from the University of Stellenbosch and has seven years experience in Human Resources. She also completed studies in Industrial and Organisational Psychology through Unisa with her focus being on recruitment and selection.
Margot is married to Alan and has a daughter. She enjoys reading, cooking and being outdoors.
Karen van Heerden
Karen joined HopkinsCoetzee’s Training and Development Department as a Facilitator and Consultant.
After acquiring diplomas in PR and Tourism she started her career in the Wine Industry and gained experience in Marketing, Sales and PR. She then joined her husband setting up his business in the legal field.
Two beautiful daughters later, she decided to pursue her passion for people and trained as a facilitator while gaining experience in the Agricultural Sector.
She lives in Paarl and loves spending quality time with family and friends and visits to secluded places, as far away from shops and reception as possible.
Trudie started her career in Bloemfontein, amongst other positions, as recruiter with President Personnel and copy writer and marketer with the SABC.
Since moving to the Western Cape in 1995, she filled procurement and marketing positions in the secondary agricultural sector and lastly as product manager and shareholder at Grapetek.
She joined HopkinsCoetzee as a director in 2015.
Her free time – and passion - consists of reading, being in the bush or desert, wildlife, camping with husband Johan. She is also involved with NGO’s, specifically upliftment and skills-training of the rural youth.
She also loves spending time with their extended ‘Copy & Paste’ family.
