Compliance Officer

Our client is one of South Africa’s largest fruit-packing and marketing companies. They are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to appoint as their Compliance Officer. This position is based in the vicinity of Grabouw in the Western Cape.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting producers with accreditation (GlobalGAP, SIZA)
  • Monitoring Plant Protection Product (PPP) Safety
  • Manage environmental monitoring systems on farms
  • Administrative company food safety documentation system
  • Statutory Compliance (Special Export Markets)
  • Commercial due diligence and communication

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • An Agriculture orientated qualification will be beneficial
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a fruit production compliance environment
  • Good knowledge of food safety protocols like BRC
  • Good working knowledge of GlobalGAP and related add-ons
  • Good working knowledge of SIZA sustainability protocols (ethical & environmental)
  • Must be computer literate
  • Good interpersonal skills (fluent in Afrikaans and English)
  • Medically fit to perform the duties as required
  • Valid Driver’s license
