Packing Material Coordinator (Piketberg)
Our client is a leading grower, packer, and exporter of fresh fruit (citrus and table grapes) in South Africa. Their production units are situated across the Western Cape, with their head office in Bellville near Cape Town.
The company has a vacancy for a Packing Material Coordinator at their citrus and table grape pack house about 10km north of Piketberg. The position will be responsible for the management of packing material and waste control and will report to the Packhouse Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Manage carton and all carton store personnel
- Ensure weekly stock take is done accurately and on time
- Ensure that there is enough stock on hand
- Ensure that the right cartons are placed on monorail
- Stack all pack material according to company regulation and standards
- Complete packaging material documentation
- Manage and record all pack material waste
- Delegate workloads to supervisors
- Ensure that the carton store is neat and complies to auditing standards
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- A relevant tertiary qualification will be beneficial
- Background in the citrus and/or logistics/packing industry
- 2-4 years’ stock control experience
- Planning and organising skills
- Good communication skills
- Computer literate
- Willing to work irregular/ night shift and long hours (as required in the packing industry)
