Social Audits Manager: SMETA & Client Codes

Our client, Partner Africa is a leading UK NGO whose purpose it is to improve working conditions and livelihoods of workers and producers in African supply chains. They are client-focused and positively engage with their clients to identify, address and report on social, environmental and governance (ESG) issues in their organisation and supply chains and adopt responsible business practices.

They are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to appoint as their Social Audits Manager: SMETA & Client Codes. The incumbent is expected to carry out their accountabilities within the operating and process frameworks that apply to the organisation of Partner Africa; work together with all their key internal and external stakeholders within and outside of the organisation and exemplify Partner Africa’s core purpose & values in practice.

The main purpose of the job is to take accountability of Partner Africa SMETA and relevant client code audit programs.

 Main duties:

  • Recruitment and screening of freelance Auditors
  • Ensuring proper onboarding of freelance Auditors as per Partner Africa internal procedures
  • Management of pre-and after audit functions to ensure scheduling, audit and after audit functions are in line with scheme requirements.
  • Setting KPI’s and management of quality administrators
  • Attending required SMETA Quality program training, meetings and events as well as specific client meetings, i.e. Unilever, Coke, Nestle etc.
  • Managing a team of 30 SMETA freelance auditors across Africa
  • Any other Scheme Management functions as required by relevant standards
  • Support as part of the team with monthly calibration sessions
  • Oversee APSCA process

Requirements:

  • A degree in legal, International Relations, Social Studies
  • APSCA Certified Auditor (Advantageous)
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in the social compliance auditing (SMETA would be advantageous), ISO 9001 systems management auditing / implementation, Human Rights
  • Lead auditor experience against social audit standards like SMETA, SGP, URSA, SIZA, WIETA, ISO9001 or any other relevant management systems
  • Auditing Experience in Textile Industry will be advantageous
  • Training and experience in auditing against Quality Management Systems, Health & Safety, SA8000, BSCI or any other relevant social audit standard would be advantageous
