Head Monitor (Malmesbury)

Our client is the producer of export table grapes and citrus fruit in South Africa. They have a vacancy for a permanent position as a Head Monitor. The position is based in Malmesbury will report to the production managers and is available immediately.

The main job duties are:

  • Monitoring of pests and plague
  • Monitoring of citrus data trees
  • Citrus fruit measuring
  • Irrigation probes maintenance
  • Packhouse pest control checks
  • Transport of people
  • Agriwiz irrigation data collection:
    • Extraction tube measurements, pH, ECs, water volumes, and more
    • Collecting MRL-, leaf-, soil- and water samples
    • Other farming duties as required from time to time

Requirements:

  • Background in table grape/ citrus industry in a similar role
  • Computer literate (MS Office, especially Excel)
  • Must be willing to work irregular and long hours unique to the citrus and grape industry

The following will count in your favour:

  • Knowledge of DFM/ Probes
  • Knowledge of Monitoring pests and diseases
  • Code 10 driving license
