Regional Genetic Sales Consultant
Semex South Africa (Pty) Ltd is a leading supplier of bovine genetics to the South African beef and dairy industry. We have agents nationwide and a distributor in Namibia.
We are looking for a results-driven Regional Genetic Sales Consultant to grow sales and build strong customer relationships in the Cape Region. Using a consultative sales approach, you will help dairy, and beef farmers enhance herd performance with Semex genetics, genomic testing, mating programs, and cow monitoring technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with dairy and beef farmers
- Identify opportunities where Semex genetics can improve herd productivity and profitability
- Conduct Genetic Audits using farm data and visual evaluation to recommend tailored genetic strategies.
- Promote and support Semex’s suite of solutions, including genomic testing, mating program, herd monitoring, and dairy consumables
- Train and assist farm employees in implementing genetic strategies
- Extract, analyze, and interpret farm data for use in computer-assisted mating and genomic testing programs
- Diagnose herd challenges and offer solutions that drive customer success and sales growth
Requirements:
- A tertiary Degree/Qualification in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience in a relevant role (sales experience and animal agriculture background beneficial)
- Strong computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Excel. Ability to troubleshoot software and connectivity issues, and basic data analysis.
Benefits & Compensation:
Initial basic monthly stipend + commission for the first 3 – 6 months to support market establishment Monthly Fuel allowance/refund. Annual Bonus. Transition to full commission over time as customer base grows.
This contractual position reports to the Sales Manager.
