Table Grape Production Assistant (Malmesbury)
Our client, a citrus and table grape producer in the Malmesbury/ Riebeeck area, has a vacancy for a Production Assistant. The position will report to the production manager and is available immediately.
This is an ideal opportunity for an agriculture graduate that needs experience to start his/her career in agriculture to ultimately become a production manager and future farm manager.
Responsibilities:
- Production: Planting of table grapes, Irrigation scheduling, application of fertilizer, pest and plague control, pruning, harvesting, monitoring, all manipulations
- Personnel and administration: Labor planning and management, recordkeeping, transport and accommodation planning, maintenance (equipment / orchards / general)
Requirements:
- Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification
- Entry level experience in the cultivation of table grapes
- Basic knowledge of sound production practices
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
- Good administrative and communication skills
- Ability to work with people and lead teams
- Driver’s license
