Viticulture Technician 

(Nursery: Plant Propagation & Grafting)  

 

Our client, Vititec currently has a vacancy for a Viticulture Technician at their Picardi farm in Paarl. The successful candidate will be responsible for:   

  • Production management (plant material propagation and grafting)  
  • Employee management  
  • Quality Management  
  • Facility maintenance  
  • Financial Management    

The competencies/ requirements required in the position are:    

  • A diploma or B-Agric degree with viticulture  
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in vine grafting  
  • Minimum 5 years of nursery experience (plant propagation) 
  • Knowledge of vineyard nursery cultivation   
  • Commercial experience in vineyard production management
  • The ability to build and maintain good customer relationships  
  • Maintaining good labour relations and discipline  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large work teams (>50 people)  
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office / Vititec Database)  
  • A Code 14- (with PDP) and Forklift license will count in your favour  
  • Certified plant inspector (PlantSA)  
  • Be able to perform basic mechanical and/or infrastructure maintenance  
  • Drafting and Managing Departmental Budget

(Kweekhuise: Plantvermeerdering & Enting)  

 

Ons kliënt, Vititec het tans ‘n vakature vir ‘n Wingerdboutegnikus by hul Picardi plaas in die Paarl. Die suksesvolle kandidaat sal verantwoordelik wees vir:   

  • Produksiebestuur (plantmateriaal vermeerdering en enting)  
  • Bestuur van werknemers  
  • Gehaltebestuur  
  • Fasiliteit onderhoud  
  • Finansiële bestuur  

  Die bevoegdhede/ vereistes benodig in die pos is:    

  • ‘n Diploma of B-Agric graad met wingerdkunde  
  • Minimum 4 jaar toepaslike ervaring in enting van wingerdstokkies  
  • Minimum 5 jaar Kweekhuis ervaring (plantvermeerdering)  
  • Kennis van wingerdkwekery verbouing   
  • Kommersiële ondervinding in wingerd produksie bestuur  
  • Die vermoë om goeie kliënteverhoudinge te bou en te handhaaf  
  • Handhawing van goeie arbeidsverhoudinge en dissipline  
  • Gedemonstreerde vermoë om groot werkspanne (>50 mense) te bestuur  
  • Rekenaarvaardigeheid (MS Office / Vititec Databasis)  
  • ‘n Kode 14- (met PDP) en Vurkhyser lisensie sal in u guns tel  
  • Gesertifiseerde plant inspekteur (PlantSA)  
  • Basiese meganiese en/of infrastruktuur onderhoud kan uitvoer  
  • Opstel en bestuur van afdelingsbegroting
