Due Diligence Officer (Fruit Export)

Our client is a leading fruit export company in the Stellenbosch area. They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Due Diligence Officer to join their dynamic team.

The ideal candidate is well-organized, meticulous, and self-driven, with a strong knowledge of quality management, legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as international standards applicable to the fruit export industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring quality throughout the packaging and export process and reporting any deviations or risks.
  • Ensure that producers comply with certification requirements such as GlobalG.A.P., Tesco Nurture, Spring and SIZA and that all documentation is up-to-date and audit-ready.
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance, including MRL verification, IFS Broker, as well as Chain of Custody (CoC) audits and full traceability (Traceability/Mock Recalls).
  • Liaising with internal departments and producers to communicate quality status, market requirements and regulatory expectations
  • Maintenance of accurate records, electronic platforms and documentation that must be audit-ready at all times.
  • Handling all other tasks related to quality and compliance functions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Safety, Agriculture or a related field will count towards the candidate’s advantage.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar quality control and/or due diligence role.
  • Good knowledge of GlobalG.A.P., CoC, IFS and MRL standards as well as international export requirements for fresh produce.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
  • Valid driver’s license.
