Junior Production Manager

Our client is a producer and exporter of table grapes. They currently have an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join them as a Junior Production Manager. This specific production unit is in the Porterville area. The Junior Production Manager will report to the Production Manager and will be responsible for the following:

 Responsibilities

  • Management and further development of unit in collaboration with the Senior production manager
  • Management of production quality
  • Irrigation
  • Fertilisation and spraying of unit in collaboration with Senior Production Manager
  • Recruitment and training of staff

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with an appropriate qualification in agriculture
  • Minimum of 1-2 year’s relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of management systems (GlobalGap, etc.)
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be skilled in record keeping and administration
  • Good interpersonal relationships and communication skills
  • Must be fluent in isiXhosa
  • Computer literate
