Production Manager

Our client is an established farming company in the EGVV area. They require the services of a Production Manager with a passion for fruit farming and a work ethic that stresses drive, integrity and continued improvement on one of their farms near Villiersdorp. The unit currently has approximately 30ha of fruit orchards. This position reports to the General Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Managing all facets of production of pome and stone fruit with emphasis on quality and implementation of best farming practices
• Effective management of Labour and Machinery
• Ensure correct disciplinary procedures are followed without conflict
• Efficient irrigation and fertiliser management
• Planning and controlling of work tasks as well as keeping daily attendance register

 Requirements:

• Grade 12 with a relevant tertiary qualification (Degree / Diploma in Agriculture)
• Knowledge and experience of Pome fruit as well as a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Experience and understanding of Global Gap and Health and Safety requirements
• The ability to communicate effectively on all levels
• Strong planning, administrative and organizational skills
