Assistant Production Manager (Table Grapes)

Our client is a leading grower, packer and exporter of fresh fruit (citrus and table grapes) in South Africa. Their production units are situated across the Western Cape, with their head office in Bellville near Cape Town. The company has a vacancy for an Assistant Production Manager at their Steenebrug farm in Piketberg. The position will report to the Production Manager and is available immediately.

 

Minimum requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in agriculture or a relevant qualification
  • Recently graduated up to three years’ experience in the cultivation of table grapes
  • Experience in the preparation, harvest and packing of table grapes will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of maintenance (irrigation systems) will count in your favour
  • Experience in the handling of teams of workers
  • Knowledge of table grape production practices such as pest control, pruning, harvest and packing
  • Computer literate – Outlook, Internet
  • Code 10 drivers licence will be beneficial
