Financial Manager

Our client is one of the major role players in the pome fruit industry, situated in Grabouw. They are looking for a dynamic, energetic Financial Manager to join their executive management team. As a financial manager, you will manage both the overall finance and small dedicated finance team in a dual operational and strategic role.

Duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Maintain the financial health of the organisation by overseeing operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met
  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to management and board of directors
  • Act as company secretary, and attend regular board meetings
  • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the long-term strategic plan
  • Investigate the variances vs Budget and Forecast
  • Provide accurate monthly management accounts, including variance analysis for different teams
  • Manage cash flow and financial performance with regular and accurate forecast models
  • Build key internal and external relationships with staff and suppliers, managing key business relationships
  • Liaise with auditors and manage the year-end financial audit
  • Risk management (Credit, Insurance, Forex and Operational risks)
  • Manage an annual insurance review
  • Manage forex accounts and hedging strategy
  • Ensure that all Statutory and SARS returns are submitted, reconciled and paid on time
  • Review and monitor internal controls, risk management policy, and attend Audit Committee meetings for Kromco and Associated Companies
  • Manage the preparation of the company’s operational and CapEx budget
  • Implement and monitor company BBBEE strategy
  • Prepare annual financial statements according to IFRS
  • Ad hoc duties related to this position

The ideal candidate should have at least the following:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/MBA will be to your advantage)
  • At least 5 years post SAICA Articles experienc
  • Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, and/or processing sector will count in the candidate’s favour
  • Good computer skills (ERP systems and advance Excel)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Leadership qualities
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
