Logistics Manager: Fruit Export Industry

Our client is a prominent player in the fruit export industry, and they are seeking to appoint a Logistics Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a goal-driven go-getter with a strong work ethic and a passion for service delivery. This position is based in the Somerset West area and will report to the Managing Director.

The main function of this position is the planning, managing and control of all logistics activities related to the worldwide export of fruit and vegetables and juice concentrates. 

Further duties include:

  • The development of sustainable strategies that support the Company’s core function in the worldwide export of fruit/vegetables and juice concentrates
  • Implementation of various supply chain strategies that support the export function
  • The appointment and management of service providers in the supply chain
  • Management of the Logistics team
  • Management of the financial results of the supply chain

Minimum requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in fresh produce exports logistics in a management role
  • A tertiary degree, Master’s degree in Logistics, Maritime studies or MBA will be advantageous
  • Above average computer literacy and knowledge on supply chain systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong strategic and leadership skills
  • Strong persuasive, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills
  • An achievement orientated individual with strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to exercise resilience when facing challenges
