Refrigeration Manager

Our client in the farming and fruit packing industry is currently seeking to appoint a Refrigeration Manager for multiple sites based in the Ceres and Prins Alfred Hamlet region.

The ideal candidate must have extensive relevant experience and will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks & monitoring of cold rooms.

Responsibilities further include:

  • Management of external contractors & suppliers
  • The effectiveness of ammonia plants (19.4 MWR) through ongoing maintenance and upgrades
  • Compliance of SABS 10147 of ammonia plants
  • Oversight over installation of ammonia machinery, network and electrical installations
  • Budget management per plant in cooperation with inhouse managers
  • Risk and energy management all other aspects related to the role

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • B.Eng Engineering degree / Diploma in engineering / refrigeration craftsmanship
  • 5 to 10 years in-depth ammonia experience
  • Experience with refrigeration of fresh produce (fruits & vegetables) will be advantageous
  • SAQGAS category B Certificate
  • Fundamental electrical knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills
