Sales and Commercial Coordinator

Our client, Desert Fruit (Pty) Ltd is a Namibian company with the objective to produce, grow and pack high-value dates for the international market. Their business operations are located on the banks of the Orange River that demarcates the border between South Africa and Namibia. The closest town is Ariamsvlei and Upington is a two-hour drive from the farm.

The core purpose of this role is to: efficiently service customers from order enquiry to delivery, and to coordinate the export readiness of a customer’s order between the customer and logistics team which includes administration of customer service complaints.

This is a remote position and the individual will not be based in Namibia, but will be required to travel there frequently.

 Main duties include:

  • Manage local and international sales enquiries and quotations
  • Customer relationship management
  • Customer support
  • Oversight of logistics and logistics service providers
  • Order control and development of packing protocols
  • Management of sample process
  • Assistance with audits such as Global G.A.P., BRCGS and SMETA
  • Management and sales reporting
  • Database management
  • Ad hoc duties (i.e., applying for export certificates)
  • Assist with over-run of logistics tasks as and when required

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with a Business admin/project management/logistics related tertiary qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a related role
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to express yourself credibly to clients
  • Proficiency in MS Office at intermediate level
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and delivering impeccable customer service
  • Effective planning, organising and prioritising skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement
  • Responsible, self-disciplined, reliable, systematic, and have a high degree of personal integrity
  • Willingness to travel
