General Manager

Our client is one of the largest producers and exporters of citrus and stone fruit in South Africa. They are in the process of setting up a brand new packhouse with the latest technology, together with coldrooms in the Paarl/Franschhoek area and are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced General Manager to join their operations.

Reporting to the board of directors the General Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Operational management
  • Strategic planning
  • Financial management
  • Human resource management
  • Administrative management
  • Reporting

Requirements for the position are:

  • A relevant degree or post matric qualifications
  • At least 10 years’ experience in export fruit packing and cooling
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong business acumen & financial management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build sound business relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to drive through changes and projects until completion
  • Must have excellent team building skills and have created highly effected teams in the past
