Technical Manager

Our client in the fruit farming industry is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Technical Manager to join their team. This position reports to the General Manager and is based in the Stellenbosch region.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Quality Assurance
    • Intake – ensuring that incoming fruit and packing corresponds
    • Ensure that quality specifications are adhered to in all packs
    • Ensure the dispatch of QA checks and that reports compiled
    • Shelf-life samples
    • Store visits to check quality and traceability
  • Product flows – QC checks at critical control points
  • Employee management
  • Training of employees/packers
  • Setting, monitoring and ensuring meeting of quality requirements in product flow

Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of food safety and quality systems (BRC, Globalgap, SIZA/SEDEX)
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Computer literate
  • A valid driver’s license
