Accountant

Our client is an Agricultural Consultancy based in Wellington. They are looking for suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to join their team. Their ideal candidate is passionate about imports and exports within the fruit industry. This position reports to the General Manager.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Overseeing all financial and administrative functions of the company
  • Managing the day-to-day financial outputs
  • Producing all financial statements and preparations for annual audit
  • Calculation, preparation and submission of all statutory compliance, including Income Tax, SARS, Customs & Excise, SAWIS, WCA and BBEEE
  • Preparation and production of management reports
  • Provide strategic input on forecasting and planning
  • Management of suppliers, debtors and insurance-related tasks
  • Assist in inventory control and updating fixed asset register
  • Salary, wages and sales commission administration
  • Bank liaison, electronic transfers and accounts management

Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary accounting qualification with completed SAICA articles
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience, including the fruit industry
  • Excellent computer proficiency (Sage and MS Office)
  • Experience in dealing with SARS related work
  • Own reliable transport
