Packhouse Technician

Our client, a leading and vertically integrated citrus and Rooibos tea producer in the Citrusdal valley has an opportunity for a dynamic individual as Packhouse Technician, to join their passionate, agile and efficient cross-functional team with high regard to leadership, empowerment and trust.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance of existing packhouse equipment
  • Assistance in modification and optimization of packhouse equipment
  • Integration with electrical team for maintenance of feed and drivetrain systems
  • Instillation of new mechanical projects in the packhouse
  • Manage assistant technicians

Requirements and Competencies:

  • Trade Tested Millwright (Red Seal)
  • A minimum of 5 year’s work experience in a fruit packing / manufacturing environment
  • Ability to physically carry out tasks on hand
  • Ability to respond to emergency repairs as and when needed
  • Computer Literacy, including Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to work and prosper within a team environment
  • Self-motivated, driven, resilient and humble
