BI Analyst

Our client in the farming and fruit export industry is looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join their team.

The BI Analyst will collaborate with all departments (Finance, Technical, Production, Research & Development) of the company and will be required to investigate and analyze various processes and systems to make recommendations involving many competing factors to provide a sustainable solution for the business.

In addition, the incumbent will be required to provide in-house training to staff at all levels to maximize proficiency and productivity with their products and services.

With the experience gained within this job the incumbent will be able to develop an internal career path and grow within the company.

The BI Analyst will report directly to the Head of ICT who will direct actions and priorities in line with the groups long term strategy.

The position will be based in Ceres in the Western Cape.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consult and collaborate with management and relevant stakeholder to define goals
  • Research, develop and implement data-gathering methods
  • Develop and manage BI solutions (QlikView/Qliksense/Nprinting/Power BI)
  • Provide reports, processes, and Excel VBA applications through the application life cycle
  • Create and maintain documentation including requirements, design, and user manuals
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions
  • Identify development needs to improve and streamline operations
  • Evaluating and analyze the effectiveness of implemented strategies
  • Report back on findings and make recommendations on solutions

 Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar
  • SQL Server skills including SQL objects development, performance tuning, data analysis and integration.
  • Knowledge in Technology such as C#, VBA, SharePoint will be advantageous
  • Proficient in BI tools: QlikView/Qliksense and Power Bi
  • Ability to read code and support applications, reports, and processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience with programming for data analysis
  • Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent listening, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
