Export and Logistics Coordinator

Our client, an established company trading in premium fruit, and they are seeking to appoint an Export and Logistics Coordinator. This position is based in Observatory, Cape Town. 

Key tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Liaise with shipping lines for bookings / container releases / bill of lading / rates
  • Liaise with clearing agent / shipping lines / freight forwarder / internal departments with regards to freight rates, loadings, bookings and relevant documentation
  • Arrange container pick-up and delivery for loading with haulage companies
  • Ensuring on-time receipt of export documentation
  • Certificate of Origin, BESC documents and Phytosanitary certificate
  • Updating documents log and files
  • Sending appropriate documents to sales team for clients to be able to clear their cargo on time

Minimum requirements:        

  • Grade 12 with a qualification in Freight Forwarding or Logistics
  • A minimum of 2-years’ experience in Freight Forwarding and Logistics experience (export-related)
  • Fluent in English, proficiency in French will be most advantageous
  • Strong initiative, organisational and communication skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills
