CAD Designer

Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor of high quality small and large-scale fruit and vegetable grading and sorting equipment. They are seeking to appoint a hardworking, suitably qualified and experienced CAD Designer to join their team. This position is based in Paarl.

Main duties:

  • Work according to project schedule
  • Project and machine design
  • Designer administrative tasks
  • Follow up on laser cutting
  • Training of new staff members
  • Updating the standards library
  • Internal project management
  • Provide design input and solutions
  • Data pack overview
  • Designing of jigs
  • The process of standardizing components and machines

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with a relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Approximately 3 years of experience in mechanical design of mechanized equipment, preferably in a mechanical environment where the design and manufacture of fruit production line equipment takes place
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of CAD-3D, i.e. Inventor, Solid Edge, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and strict deadlines
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
