Financial Controller

Our client, situated just outside of Paarl, is one of South Africa’s leading wine producers. They are seeking to appoint a Financial Controller to join their team. This position reports to the Financial Manager.

Main duties: 

  • Manage and maintain the Fixed Asset Register, General, Debtors and Creditors Ledgers
  • Reconciliations of Balance Sheet and other Control Accounts
  • Assisting Financial Manager where necessary on an ad-hoc basis
  • Reconciliations of trade Debtors and Creditors
  • Process monthly debtor statements and follow up on payments
  • Preparation and assistance with year-end and audits
  • Verify and check EFT payments
  • Reviewing and improving controls within departments
  • Monthly financial checks on cash
  • Resolution of queries from external stakeholders
  • Ensuring that VAT is correctly accounted for and submitted
  • Accurate monthly cash flow statements
  • Managing the BEE process of the company
  • Stock
    • Managing stock control to ensure minimal stock losses.
    • Assist auditors with yearly stock take.
    • Costings
  • Assisting with annual budgets
  • Managing insurance portfolio and claims

Requirements:

  • Comm degree
  • Accurate, hardworking and system oriented
  • Strong computer skills
  • Good communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
  • Good team player with the ability to work under pressure
  • The ability to work independently
  • Experience with EzyWine software will be advantageous
