Fruit Quality Control and Packaging Coordinator (Mpumalanga)
A fruit export company, based in Stellenbosch in the Western Cape, requires a competent person to fill the above permanent position at their Mpumalanga satellite office. They are offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual with experience in quality control and packaging in the citrus and pome industry.
Responsibilities include, but is not limited to:
- Managing the fruit quality processes with regards to packaging
- Keeping trend of rejections and make recommendations to prevent fruit being rejected
- Overseeing and ensure compliance to quality and food safety standards
- Product quality control of product packed for different customers
- Conducting post season reconciliations and reports
- Admin and record keeping related to quality and compliance
- Close co-operation with growers, pack houses and the trading team
- Responsible for crop estimates
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification in agriculture
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Working experience in an agricultural packing environment and protocols as well as packaging programs
- Knowledge of quality to target market specifics
- Knowledge of packaging material management
- Effective communication and computer skills (Excel)
- Valid driver’s license and valid passport
- Willing to travel
