Fruit Quality Control and Packaging Coordinator (Mpumalanga)

A fruit export company, based in Stellenbosch in the Western Cape, requires a competent person to fill the above permanent position at their Mpumalanga satellite office. They are offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual with experience in quality control and packaging in the citrus and pome industry. 

Responsibilities include, but is not limited to: 

  • Managing the fruit quality processes with regards to packaging
  • Keeping trend of rejections and make recommendations to prevent fruit being rejected
  • Overseeing and ensure compliance to quality and food safety standards
  • Product quality control of product packed for different customers
  • Conducting post season reconciliations and reports
  • Admin and record keeping related to quality and compliance
  • Close co-operation with growers, pack houses and the trading team
  • Responsible for crop estimates

 Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • A tertiary qualification in agriculture
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Working experience in an agricultural packing environment and protocols as well as packaging programs
  • Knowledge of quality to target market specifics
  • Knowledge of packaging material management
  • Effective communication and computer skills (Excel)
  • Valid driver’s license and valid passport
  • Willing to travel
