Wine Tasting Room Manager

Our client, Kanonkop Wine Estate, situated at the foot of the Simonsberg in die Stellenbosch region, currently has a career opportunity available for a Tasting Room Manager.

This exciting position is ideally suited to a person who displays enthusiasm for the wine industry along with excellent wine knowledge.

 Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Management of the daily operations of the Wine Tasting Room
  • Stock control – weekly and monthly
  • Staff management
  • Cash- ups
  • Greeting visitors and assist staff during wine tastings
  • Overseas shipments of orders raised in the tasting room, online orders
  • Management of the wine club
  • Handling of routine purchasing which includes operating the register for daily sales
  • Creating and communicating staff schedules
  • Weekly reporting of sales and statistics to management

Requirements:

  • A Wine course diploma/certificate is a requirement
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a similar position as advertised (Wine Tasting Room Manager)
  • Experience and excellent wine knowledges is a requirement
  • Positive attitude and professionalism is of importance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team-orientated and committed
  • Reliable, organised, flexible and responsible
  • Excellent customer service and people skills
  • Must be able to multitask and plan affectively
  • Strong verbal communication skill in both English and Afrikaans
