Production Supervisors

Our client is an agri-business that specialises in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.

They have opportunities for experienced production supervisors to take responsibility of their fruit production units in Grabouw in the Western Cape.

Reporting to a Production Manager the incumbent will be responsible for optimising the efficient and effective management of the farming operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing two teams of 16 employees that continuously achieve production and quality targets
  • Handle basic disciplinary actions when needed
  • Engage with employees with regards to industrial relations matters such as grievances, ensure policies and procedures are adhered to etc.
  • Identify training needs for the team
  • Ensure that Health and Safety measures are implemented
  • Able to drive continuous improvement and help the team come up with innovative ways to solve problems

 Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Apple and/or Pear farming experience will be advantageous
  • A valid driver’s licence
  • Candidate should ideally be able to communicate in Xhosa, English, and Afrikaans
