Farm Manager/Viticulturist
Our client based in the Stellenbosch is looking for a Farm Manager/Viticulturist to be responsible for the operational management of their farm.
Main responsibilities:
- Management of vineyards
- Management of citrus
- Management of livestock
- Management of workforce
- Repair & maintenance related work
- Liaison with suppliers and contractors
- All other tasks related to the position
- Farm security
- Fire prevention and control
- Monthly reporting, budget & cashflow forecasting, asset & inventory management Accreditations/certifications (IPW, SAWIS), and ethical audits (WIETA)
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ proven viticulture management and farm management experience
- Experience with budget planning, costing and financial forecasting & control
- Proficient level of computer literacy MS Office, Excel, Ezy, WineMS
- Team player with strong leadership skills
- Effective communication skills
- Attentive to detail
- Organizational and planning abilities with strong administrative skills
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Able to perform under pressure
- Good interpersonal skills
- Familiar with labour practices, Health and Safety and IPW rules and regulations
- Sound mechanical skills (basic service & maintenance of machinery & equipment & infrastructure including irrigation systems)
- Valid driver’s license code 10 and PDP
- Willing & flexible to work extended hours
