Human Resource Manager (Grabouw)

Our client is a large, diversified farming enterprise located in Elgin/Grabouw some 70km from Cape Town. Their business interests include 360ha apples and pears, 15ha cut flowers, 30ha vineyards, a winery, and livestock.

They are looking for a full-time Human Resources Manager.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic, intelligent, and hard-working individual, with a tertiary qualification in Human Resources and at least 5-7 years’ experience at management level.

The candidate must have excellent working knowledge of SA labour legislation, sound leadership and people skills, good communicator, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the HR Manager will be expected to multi-task across a range of essential functions, including:

  • HR strategy & planning
  • HR policy & procedures
  • Employee & union relations
  • Compliance to statutory, legal & HR best practices
  • Industrial relations, discipline & dispute resolution
  • Performance management
  • Training & development
  • Recruitment
  • BBBEE and social welfare management
  • Security and maintenance management
  • Management of the accreditation processes, SIZA, WIETA, EUROGAP, TESCO, Woolworths, Farming for the Future and GlobalGAP
