DEMAND SPURS RERUN OF LABOUR REFORM ROADSHOWS
THE Department of Labour and the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) will rerun a series of roadshows explaining the raft of recent changes to South Africa’s labour legislation in response to high demand, the department said on Thursday.

I have been given a daunting task today. I was asked to talk to you about how to protect your property in the face of Zimbabwe-style land reform and land grabs. As a victim of Zimbabwe-style land reform – which involves the systematic and violent theft of thousands of homes and farms without a cent of compensation and as such constitutes a crime against humanity- and with this crime still continuing after 15 years, this is a complex task. It carries with it a lot of responsibility.

We cannot be sidetracked in the fight against Foetal Alcohol Syndrome

It is unforgivable that the most common cause of mental disability in the world is 100% preventable.
Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is caused by mothers who drink alcohol during pregnancy. On this spectrum, the most extreme form is known as Foetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS). Alcohol crosses the placental barrier during pregnancy and causes severe mental and physical stunting in the foetus, affecting growth, weight, head size, facial features, brain and organ development. This damage is completely irreversible.
