The Department of Labour’s Employment Equity (EE) reporting season using electronic submissions closes on Friday (January 15). In terms of the amended EE Act of 2013 employers are by law required to submit their employment equity report plans. The reports relate to demographic profile, representation in the organisations structure and EE plans to eliminate discrimination and inequity in the workplace.

Domestic workers to get pay rise

Durban – The minimum wage for domestic workers will be increased next month, but analysts have mixed views on whether the pay rise will impact positively on the lives of workers.

The Department of Labour announced the wage hikes on Monday which include an 8% to 10% increase for domestic workers, depending on the hours and areas in which they work.
